Forms of cooperation

ASK Lab has accumulated extensive experience in cooperation with both commercial and governmental organizations, enabling us to work successfully in any area. We enjoy successful relationships with many of these organizations for as many as 8 to 12 years.

ASK Laboratory employs a flexible approach to cooperation to make sure that every project is executed with maximum efficiency.

1. Research and development and experimental design work for private companies and state orders

We conduct all necessary research studies and project development in accordance with the customer’s terms of reference. We manufacture samples and create engineering documentation. If necessary, we are able to carry out our work in accordance with the standards of the customer’s country.

2. Participation in research and development and experimental design work with supply of samples, their subsequent maintenance, servicing, repair, etc.

As a result of R&D and experimental design work performed in accordance with the customer’s ToR, the required electronic modules, units and equipment nodes are manufactured. The manufactured components are transferred with the design documentation and the required level of detail. All intellectual property rights are transferred to the customer.

3. Contract development of electronics and software with a fixed contract price

This form of cooperation is convenient when the result of the project is known in advance and the project has a fixed budget which can not be changed.

Research studies and contractual development of electronics are carried out in accordance with harmonized ToR at a predetermined price. The work is conducted in stages.

4. Contract development of electronics and software with a phased settlement

This form of cooperation is suitable in cases when it is not possible to determine the final result of funding. This option is particularly relevant when solving problems which  involve learning new science and technology or conducting additional experiments simultaneously with development.

Harmonization of research and development phases is carried out. For each stage, the parties agree on separate terms of reference, each of which is drawn up based on the results of work performed. This results in successful accomplishment of tasks as a whole, with an option to make changes at each stage.

5. Contract development of electronics with payment of royalties for sale of the product

This form of cooperation is similar to partnership, as the developer and the customer share and equalize risks in a defined way.

This option allows the customer to minimize their costs during product development and move their resources to the mass production and implementation phases.

6. Transfer of intellectual property rights to the customer

In the case where our company has a turnkey solution, developed by ourselves and not burdened by rights of third parties, the customer can purchase this intellectual property at an agreed price. To bring the transferred product into full compliance with specific customer’s requirements, we can perform all necessary improvements .

This form of cooperation saves time that would be otherwise spent on development, and also enables the customer to immediately see, assess and test product samples.

7. Allocation of a group of developers to perform the customer’s technical task

If necessary, the “ASK Laboratory” can allocate a number of specific experts for individual work on the project ordered. These specialists separate from rest of the company’s staff to perform their work on the project.

The need for this isolation of the workforce may occur, for example, if the work of the group of experts should be conducted at the customer’s property, or if the customer is concerned about the safety of the resulting intellectual property.

8. Work in a partnership at all stages of the product life cycle

For many years, we have been in touch with companies that supply electronic components, and which perform work in electronics manufacturing, testing, licensing and certification in Russia and abroad, as well as OEM/ODM manufacturers in Southeast Asia. Therefore, cooperation with a partner who is entering the market with a new idea will be mutually beneficial for the rapid development of a promising technology and for the creation, promotion and support of new products.
